The First-Year student success center hosted a workshop on Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. in room 201 of the Student Union.

For the new students attending Rio Hondo College, the first year workshop is a good chance for every freshmen to learn about the campus and know what to expect during and after attending school.

This workshop series takes place regularly from early September to mid October at the Student Union Building.

A variety of workshops are offered, including Transfer 101, Get It Together, Ballin’on a Budget and Rio Hondo 101.

Students can pick and choose from these options and attend the workshops that they are interested in.

For those who expect to move on to a 4-year university after graduating, Transfer 101 is a workshop that they should attend.

During the workshop, students will learn more about the process of successful transfer and the required GPA as well as course units in order to be eligible to enroll in either a public or private university.
