Jaden Smith Opening a Restaurant to Feed the Houseless in LA

Jaden Smith continues to help those in need.

Jaden Smith is not just any actor, singer, rapper, or songwriter. He’s not just the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. He’s a humanitarian. He uses his platform and money on things that truly matter.

In 2012, he co-founded the eco-friendly company JUST Water. He launched the idea after surfing and seeing trash floating around him. The company has kept 4.4 million pounds of carbon from being released into the environment.

“I saw what happens when plastic goes to waste in our environment and how it affects us… I needed to do something and make a difference. So, we’re trying to eliminate as much plastic as possible. I want to make it easier [for people] to be part of the solution.” –Jaden Smith, JUST Co-Founder

In 2019, his company partnered with a local Flint church to install a mobile water treatment system called “The Water Box”. As we know, Flint, Michigan has been without clean water since 2014. That same year (2019), he also opened a pop-up vegan food truck called I Love You Resturant and placed it in LA’s Skid Row. He provided houseless people with free healthy meals.

Jaden is still working to feed the people in need. He is now opening an actual I Love You Restaurant establishment. This restaurant will continue to feed the houseless people who live in Skid Row. The way it works is that people who can afford to pay and eat will pay it forward and donate a meal to the next person in need of one. “It’s for homeless people to get free food,” he states. “But if you are not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you.”

It is still in the works of where the restaurant will be located and when it will open.
