The forth annual ‘Fiesta de la flor, a two day festival that honors the life ad legacy of Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla. The festival happened this past weekend starting April 13 and ending the 14.

The festival consisted of a silent disco, panels and musical performances. Fans were also able to enjoy music of the amazing Selena. One person who was on the panel was YouTube star Desi Perkins. Perkins caught the attention of many of her fans and Suzette Quintanilla when Perkins transformed herself into Selena. On the Panel Perkins was able to transform herself on more time in front of many fans.

“Selena to me represents all young Latina girls who never had someone to look up to. She became that person for young girls and still is. No one will be able to fit that spot. She is still inspiring young women today,” Perkins said.

One musical guest that attended was Becky G. Becky was humbled and ‘muy excited’ to be at the event.

“I’ve idolized Selena since I was very young. Being here, in Selena’s hometown, is something I will never forget. She’s inspired people belong the Latino community. People know who I am talking about when i say ‘Selena’. They know I’m talking about the Selena Quintanilla,” said Becky.

This festival brings fans young and old together to celebrate this amazing life. Her music has touched many hearts everywhere. Her influence has left a bigger mark on everyone’s life. The influence she left on Latina women everywhere is still touching many people today. Selena’s life will always be cherished and remembered for giving Latina’s and many people the belief that they can chase any dream no matter how big it might be.
