Golden State Warriors Start Off Strong
Since the season started on October 19th, the Golden State Warriors have come out the gates hot. They have started the season 4-0 leading the western conference. They are one of only three teams that are left undefeated so far this season. This has been the Warriors best start since their 2015-1016 season. Unfortunately they ended up losing in the NBA finals against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even though they lost, the bright side of that season was that they ended the regular season with the best record of all time. With this strong start the Warriors look to have a successful season after falling just short last season.
Beating Tops Teams
The Warriors started the season with two big wins against tough western conference opponents. Their first win was against the 2020 champions the Los Angeles Lakers. They were able to take down Lebron James and the newly formed Lakers 121-114. Then they had a day break before playing their second game against the Los Angeles Clippers. They successfully took them down with Stephen Curry dropping 45 points in their two point victory over the Clippers. Since then they have also beat the Sacramento Kings and the Oklahoma City Thunder. With these wins they look to carry this momentum into their next couple games.
Curry MVP?
Through four games Stephen Curry is already looking like the league MVP with the numbers he has been putting up. Throughout four games he is averaging 29 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists. These are some MVP type numbers if you looked at previous MVPs in the league. Back when he won MVP in 2015 he averaged 30 points 5 rebounds and 6 assists. If you look at what he has averaged throughout four games, just imagine what he will have to end the season. So far through the season many people will say that Curry is the MVP so far.
Players Returning
Even with the Warriors looking good so far they aren’t even at their full potential. They are missing two very important players to their roster. They are missing their young up and coming center James Wiseman who is set to return this season. Still no set date in sight, but the Warriors staff are working with him to see when he will return. The next player is the biggest one yet, Klay Thompson. Thompson was probably one of their biggest assets back when they were winning championships. His shooting ability was uncomparable to anyone else in the league. Once he comes back, the Warriors will look better than ever and have a real shot at a championship this year.
