Sony Interactive Entertainment is one of the biggest and most recognizable companies in gaming. They provide some of the best tech for their consoles and have created some of the most memorable games. From classics like Banjo Kazooie to their latest masterpieces like God of War, they are a gaming company that continues to grow. But now, it is about to get a whole lot bigger. During a September 16 live stream, Sony unveiled what is in store for their latest console and games.

PlayStation 5

Sony finally put a release date and price on their next gen console, the PlayStation 5. In the U.S., the Digital edition will cost $399.99 and the Standard version will be $499.99. Both editions are set to release November 12 in select countries and will be available to the rest of the world November 19. The Standard edition of the PlayStation 5 comes with a disk drive, while the Digital edition is completely digital. That means you cannot use discs and are only allowed to purchase games within the PlayStation store. Might be a benefit for those who do not want to take up more space with game cases and get $100 off a next gen console. Either way, the next generation of PlayStation consoles and games looks to be promising and fun for those who will get their hands on one.

New Line Up of Games

Sony displayed all the games that will be released next year and when the next gen console is released. Though some of these announcements were anticipated, most of these games made people even more excited. Nevertheless, here are all the upcoming games that will be coming soon.

Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI looks like it will take on a new journey and adventure. JRPG fans will enjoy the setting as well as the action and story Final Fantasy XVI has to offer.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

One of the most anticipated games shown, Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks like it might be a home-run. This will be a follow up to the 2018 Spider-Man game which was praised as one of the best Spider-Man games. Not only that, it is one of the best games on the PS4. Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks like it will be another success and a great way to kick off the next gen console.

Hogwarts Legacy

One of the games that surprised a lot of people was the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy. Set in the wizzarding world of Harry Potter, Hogwarts will allow you to create your own story set in the late 1800s. Although there was not much to show in terms of game play, it gave us a small glimpse of what we can expect.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold war

Another year, another Call of Duty game. We get another installment in the Black Ops series, this time set in the Cold War. What was shown from the gameplay was typical of a Call of Duty game, but there were a few new interesting mechanics for taking out your enemies. You can expect an action packed campaign with twists and turns you would expect from the series.

Resident Evil: Village

One of Capcom’s most recognizable titles, Resident Evil: Village is the next chapter in this horror survival game. Despite the title of the game, it looks like you will be exploring more than just a village.

Oddworld: Soulstorm

Oddworld: Soulstorm is a 3D platformer that follows the story of Abe. Solve puzzles and overcome obstacles as you help liberate your people.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach

Five Nights at Freddy’s is back at it again with their next game: Security Breach. Survive the night by completing tasks, while outsmarting and avoiding the animatronics.

Death Loop

One of the more interesting games announced prior, Death Loop gave us a look at what we can expect. Eliminate targets while some else pursues you. If you die, you start all over again. Only way to end the loop is to eliminate all your targets.

Demon Souls

Having brought many tears, much rage, and caused broken controllers for gamers, Demon’s Souls finally gets a remaster since its release on the PS3. It was the first to kick off a new genre of gaming now known as “Souls” games. It will be interesting and challenging to see this game with a new coat of paint

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition

Although this was released last year, Devil May Cry 5 was well received by everyone. The Special Edition will most likely update the graphics for the next gen console.

God of War: Ragnarok

It was only a short teaser, but it has everyone excited for God of War: Ragnarok next year. We can expect the beginning of the end for the next God of War.
