Lakers vs Clippers Preview

The Battle of Los Angeles is coming Monday, March 4 with the Lakers and Clippers tipping off at Staples Center. The last time the Lakers faced off with the Clippers it ended with a Lakers nail biting overtime win back on January 31st, Lakers 123-Clippers 120. A little background, the Lakers are currently 28-29 on the season and are riding a three-game losing streak. The Lakers are currently without Lonzo Ball, a key player in their defense as well as their offense. It will be interesting to see how the Lakers play without Lonzo.

The Clippers are looking better than the Lakers with a 32-37 record, they are ahead of the Lakers in the Western Conference. The Clippers added some players from the Lakers that will be key in the match up. The Clippers got Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac who filled a key role for the Lakers when the Lakers were down players.

Now the two will be facing off against their old team. On the Lakers side, key players to look out for are LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma.

LeBron likes to keep a fast tempo, so he will be pushing the ball up court and take advantage of fast breaks. In a postgame interview, LeBron said that his playoff mode intensity “has been activated”. LeBron has missed 18 games this season due to a groin injury on Christmas Day in a win over the Warriors.

During that time, Kuzma had to step up and take charge of the team and during that time he has solidified himself and will be a threat on both sides of the ball. On the other side, the Clippers have two players that the Lakers need to be on the lookout for and that’s Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams. Beverly is known for his aggressive defense and will be challenging Rondo all night.

It will be a good match up because both like trash-talking so this will be one of those games you will not want to miss. Williams is a new addition to the Clippers and can handle the ball as well as shoot. The Lakers will need to be on the lookout for him because he is the best player at the moment for the Clippers, averaging 19.9 points per game. This game will be a can’t miss game, as both teams fight to see who runs LA.
