Dodgers Looking Ahead To The Postseason

With one week left in the regular season, the playoff picture is starting to become clear. Despite the fact that we are still unsure of what teams will make the playoffs, one thing is for sure, the LA Dodgers will make the playoffs. Not only will they make it, but they will most likely be the number 1 seed heading into the postseason.

The team has a 100-58 record with a week still to go in the regular season. The LA Dodgers won their division almost 2 weeks before any other MLB team by a large margin. The Arizona Diamondbacks, who are second behind the LA Dodgers in the NL West, are 20 games behind.

Even though LA has been the favorites in the National League all year, there are teams that can challenge them in the post season. One of these teams are the Atlanta Braves who also faced the Dodgers last postseason. The Braves are looking much tougher than they did in 2018. With emerging players like Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies, their lineup now has more depth. The team also has quality pitching and stars such as Josh Donaldson and Freddie Freeman.

If the Dodgers make the World Series for a 3rd straight year, they’d potentially face one of the two giants of the American League. Both the Yankees and the Astros are looking like major contenders this year. Them along with LA Dodgers are the only teams with 100 wins in baseball. The city of Los Angeles will be hoping this is finally the year the Dodgers finally bring the title home.
