Rio Hondo’s job fair provides career opportunities

Rio Hondo College hosted its annual job fair on April 16, in the mid quad near the Rio Café. The festivities started at 9am and went on until 1pm.

Students were encouraged to visit representatives at their booths by way of a bingo card.

Every booth students visited would stamp the bingo card. Once a student acquired six stamps (one per letter in the word CAREER), the student would be eligible to turn the card in at a raffle table to win prizes.

Getting all six stamps was an easy task due to the variety of representatives. Among them were: LAPD, LAFD, UC Irvine, CSU LA, LA County District Attorneys Office, E.D.D, Vonage, Farmers Insurance, Power 106, Pep Boys, Whittier Museum, Disney, The Woodcraft Rangers and our own Rio Hondo Environmental Sciences.

Representatives at the booths were friendly and helpful. They answered all questions asked and gave out brochures and candy to anyone interested. The Easter bunny greeted sharply dressed students.
