Local Kids Got Talent!

The After School Program at Palm Elementary School of the Hacienda/La Puente School District hosted its annual talent show Friday, Jan. 31.

Each After School Program in the HLPUSD hosts their own talent show then the winners of each show compete against each other for the in district talent show. The winners of the district talent show receive a huge trophy to showcase at their school and of course, bragging rights!

Palm Elementary is the returning district champion. Returning Champion Jovanni Diaz, performed to show everybody what championship talent looks like. He won last years district show with a break dancing to Will I Am’s “Scream and Shout”. He was there to make sure Palm’s winner had what it takes.

Students were serious about keeping the title. There were twenty different acts varying from singing to group dancing even a comical skit. The students gave it their best.

After all acts, fifth grader Chloe Gulino emerged victorious! She had an impressive performance to Pink’s “Please Don’t Leave Me”. Not only did she sing it with great enthusiasm, she added hand movement and body gestures that went along with the songs lyrics.

In a post win interview she stated that she was excited and is going to give it everything to represent Palm Elementary at the district talent show.

With district talent show a few weeks away, Palm’s students are hoping their champion is going to bring back the trophy.
