Gary Van Voorhies has been appointed as Rio Hondo College’s new Director of Information Technology as of June 13.

Since 2006, Voorhies has served as a senior consultant through Strata Information, Inc. for Rio Hondo’s core technology systems including all hardware, networking and software.

Previously, Voorhies was the interim IT Director for Irvine Valley College, managing the daily information technology needs of the campus, creating a five-year IT strategic plan and developing a new websitefor college.

Voorhies also served as the Chief Information Officer for the San Bernanrdino Community College District through the managed services group of SunGard Higher Education.
