Rio Hondo Board of Trustees Madeline Shapiro, Vicky Santana, Norma Edith Garcia, and Angela Acosta-Salazar joined president Teresa Dreyfuss and a group of Rio Hondo faculty members to welcome former Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis’ return to campus.

Secretary Solis served as a Rio Hondo Trustee for 12 years prior to her election to the State Assembly, State Senator, U.S congress, and her recent service as a Secretary of the United States Department of Labor.

Following brief comments and program updates, the members of the group embarked on a campus tour to showcase the facilities and improvements that the campus has undergone since passing the measure A facilities bond in 2004.

Secretary Solis offered some suggested potential partners for Rio Hondo College to pursue and expressed praise for the current work of the college.
