Dr. Ted Martinez Retirement

President/Superintendent Dr. Ted Martinez retirement goes into effect June 30. Martinez was the eighth Superintendent/President of Rio Hondo College, and is retiring after five years on the job.

Martinez told Rio Hondo College in a campus wide email “As I conclude my 41 years of serviced to community college education, I have informed the Board of Trustees of my intention to retire effective June 30, 2012.”

“I am quite proud of our collective achievements these past five years.  Together we have advanced the Rio Hondo College reputation, academic programs, services to students and our connections to our community.  I am truly grateful to you for your support,” he announced in his email to the Board.

“It is now time for a new generation of leadership to take Rio Hondo College into the next 50 years, which will surely be filled with outstanding accomplishments,” he said.

Martinez came to the college five years ago after leaving Grossmont College in San Diego.

Martinez’s Retirement Celebration is on Thursday, June 21. It starts at 5:30pm at the Clarke Estate on 102011 Pioneer Blvd. Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670.
