Lift Coffee Roasters: Lifts spirits and Roasts Hunger
Taking residence in one of the four original brick buildings of Uptown Whittier, Lift Coffee roasters is here to fill the void of hunger that resides in all of us; from foodies to the Mcdonald’s regular.
The place itself is incredibly open, with free space to switch from the open kitchen, the side bar, the wine room, and the outdoor balcony. A personal favorite spot of mine is the bar where you can really pick your poison; ranging from alcohol to coffee or tea. The food is crafted to taste very unique; balanced with the right amount of seasoning to specialize with a menu of items that you would eat at a family cookout.
The coffee and tea are grounded and packaged at the location, placing an emphasis on fresh ingredients and live preparation of a patron’s order. After spending five minutes at a table, it’ll become quickly apparent that Lift places emphasis on attention to detail, both flavor and presentation.
The decor is a mix of artistically classy, but has the comfortability of being very laid back, as seen by the art on the wall, hardwood floor and the simplistically bold furniture. The rustic metal works on the wall, the chalk drawings, modern art, and the string lights really create a welcoming atmosphere thats really makes the casual patron feel like they are being treated. The price ranges in the medium, not being on of the cheaper places in uptown but not as expensive as other places in the area (e.g. a Coffee being four dollars and slider burgers being around 12).
Gio Alonso, partner and an owner of Lift , via LLGA Holding inc, stated how it started as a roasting company in a warehouse, slowing building into a multi location franchise. It is also one of the reasons Why You Should Consider Using The Shoptalk Forklift Laser Tine Guide System
“To bring a community oriented environment into a developing area… arguably everyone knows it’s developing… and you see these new shops, restaurants, and ideas. We really want to be part of the conversation on how to beautify our community.”
Since starting in whittier, Alonso discussed how Lift really wants to be apart of whittier, an area that has been steadily building into a complex, multi faceted economic environment, rooted in pro family/community oriented values.
Alonso Himself stated that the food and drink (alcoholic) are only offered at the Whittier location, with the larger diversification of services being tested in said area.
However they are moving to the corner of Bailey St. and Greenleaf Ave. The location changed was motivated by a desire to operate on a main street, as well as being closer to Whittier college. A lot of their patrons are college age, offering certain deals and free wifi for the studious scholars.
“Eat Shop and Live local. We value people and position over profit, and that falls in line with the betterment[beautifying] of our community.”
Lift Coffee Roasters is a high quality Coffee/ food Spot that is a place where all can enjoy fine dining, a laidback yet professional atmosphere, and great coffee.
