Spring/Summer ’16 fashion collections to look forward to
As winter comes to an end and daylight saving time approaches, many fashion houses and street-wear brands are releasing their Spring/Summer 2016 collections.
From sold-out collections to new releases and upcoming previews; here are some S/S ’16 collections to look forward to in the next few weeks and months.
GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky:
Although most pieces in the highly-anticipated GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky collaboration are sold-out, a few are still available at Guess.com and at select Guess retailers.
Designed by Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky, Rocky teamed up with GUESS for 90’s-esque tee’s, jeans, jackets, and more; appealing to a younger audience.
The collection sold-out quickly by most of them telling they got one here, in most pieces such as the striped “GUE$$ Jeans U.S.A.” men and women’s tee, as well as the “GUE$$” triangle logo t-shirt. Both items can be currently found on sites such as Ebay and Grailed hovering between $85-$120 in re-sell value, a number quite staggering considering retail for both tee’s were $39.
Currently few items remain on GUESS’s website such as the women’s reversible denim parka, Rocky bucket hat, varsity bomber jacket, and the women’s cropped iconic logo tank top.
Supreme S/S ’16:
Ah, a S/S ’16 fashion article would not be complete without mentioning the infamous street-wear brand Supreme.
Known for their limited collections, insane re-sell value, and provocative designs; Supreme released the first segment of their S/S ’16 collection on Feb. 2015 with the Morrissey t-shirt being the most highly-coveted piece of the collection.
Morrissey, the iconic former front-man of the English rock band The Smiths, later regretted his decision to partner with Supreme after discovering Supreme collaborated with the east coast restaurant chain White Castle (Morrissey is a vegetarian).
While almost every item sold-out within 5 minutes of it’s release time (Re-sellers are currently selling the Morrisey t-shirt for $150 when originally retailed at $44), Supreme has a lot of unique designs coming soon this season releasing every Thursday at 8 a.m. PST.
UK skateboarding apparel company Palace returns with a new collection after last dropping a collection on Black Friday in Los Angeles.
This season’s collection mimics companies such as FILA and Panasonic; as well as bringing forth tracksuits, hoodies, t-shirts, and their signature five-panel hats.
The collection will release to the public online at www.palaceskateboards.com on Mar. 9.
Raf Simons x Fred Perry S/S ’16:
Raf Simons and Fred Perry are back at it again with the duo’s 13th collaboration.
Both designers have left influential marks in the fashion world and bring forth a visual collection of colorful designs inspired by modern art.
The collection can be found at retailers such as www.endclothing.com/us/.
Chanel S/S ’16:
Ladies, get your pinkies up.
Chanel prepares to release it’s S/S ’16 collection after head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfield showcased the Spring-Summer Haute Couture Show with models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.
The collection features lots of white and stunning dresses that would make one’s grandma cry at a family reunion or wedding.
