Break out the leggings, sweaters, and hoodies because the month of October is now here! It’s time for longer nights, cold weather, leaves changing color, and of course, Halloween! In celebration of this spooky holiday, I’ve prepared  fun and easy recipes for not only Halloween themed treats, but Halloween themed alcoholic drinks as well! I am going to post one snack and drink recipe daily all throughout October. So, without further ado, here are the recipes for Day #1.

What you will need:

Story continues below advertisement
  • REESE’S Miniatures Peanut Butter Cups
  • 1/4 cup HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Chips, HERSHEY’S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Thin pretzel sticks (about 4 inches long)

Recipe:

You will need one peanut butter cup and one pretzel stick for each broomstick desired.

  1. Remove wrappers from desired number of peanut butter cups.
  2. Place chocolate chips in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are melted and smooth when stirred.
  3. Dip about 1/2 inch of pretzel end into melted chocolate and then insert into bottom of peanut butter cup. Place “broom” on plate or tray until chocolate holding handle is firm.

Pumpkin Pie Cocktail

What you will Need:

  • 1 oz Malibu Rum
  • 1/2 oz Kahlua
  • 3/4 oz canned pumpkin pie filling
  • 2 oz cold milk
  • Cinnamon or Cinnamon Stick
  • Whipped Cream (Optional)
  •  Blender

Recipe:

  1. Mix Rum, Kahlua, milk and pumpkin pie filling in a blender with ice and blend well.
  2. Pour into graham cracker-rimmed glass, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cinnamon stick, and if you want, add a small swirl of whipped cream to the top.

NOTE: To moisten the the rim of the glass, simply use any one of the ingredients above, since using a lime or lemon would throw off the taste.
