Disney now owns 21st Century Fox, X-Men, and most of Hulu
The New Addition
After a little more than a year of convincing, Disney’s process of obtaining 21st Century Fox is finally established. The whole process took place at 12:02 AM, giving Disney entire control over so many 21st Century Fox titles; This also include the company’s whole movie studio division. Additionally, it has a 30 percent pole in streaming services, such as Hulu and the Fox Television Group. Regardless of the acquisition, Fox Corporation will recognize its independence and names like Fox News and Fox Sports.

CEO, Bob Iger, said in the press, “ This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us– one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders. Combining Disney’s and 21st Century Fox’s wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the preeminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era.” Iger wants to increase spending on Hulu’s programming and introduce it to all viewers around the world. By doing so, it would improve Hulu which has already increases 25 million subscribers in the US. In other words, Hulu is more likely a competitor to Netflix. Furthermore, Iger has mentioned to some more new juicy information. However, it might take some time before X-Men or Fantastic Four to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger disclosed that there is a place for Fox’s superhero films, but may not be PG-13 like Disney has developed.
Disney’s Plans
Likewise, Disney’s main attraction is on 20th Century Fox’s film advantages. This involves its document of film and television shows, and its role in Hulu. Iger has recently discussed the company’s goals to include Fox content into its own company plans which includes Deadpool and X-Men into its own Marvel along with everything in creation and bring Hulu to all audience. The deal now allows Disney to control almost 40 percent of today’s market share. Moreover, Disney finally has a powering 60 percent stake in Hulu and others have predicted that Iger will attempt to win more ownership over the streaming service. With that being said, he disclosed other investors countless times that he has no plans to leave the ship, even though Disney is preparing to launch its own streaming service as well.
