The Netflix series The Umbrella Academy is based on the Dark Horse comics by Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance and Gabriel Ba.

It starts with forty-three babies being born throughout the world, all on the same day from women who were not pregnant.

A billionaire named Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of them to help save the world with their special abilities. Reginald was a tough unloving father figure.

Number One is: Luther played by (Tom Hopper). The leader of the group, an astronaut, has super strength, with an ape-like body.

Number Two: Diego (David Castaneda). A crime fighter with blade throwing skills.

Number Three: Allison (Emmy Lampman). She’s a successful actress and can manipulate and control people into doing whatever she wants by saying: “I heard a rumor..”

Number Four: Klaus (Robert Sheehan). A drug addict with the ability to see and talk to the dead.

Number Five: Five (Aiden Gallagher). An old man in a teenagers body that can time travel.

Number Six: Six (Justin Min). He’s deceased and tries to guide Klaus. Also can transform with monster-like tentacles.

Number Seven: Vanya (Ellen Page). Lead to believe that she didn’t have special abilities. She became a violin player and a writer, but she has the most power out of them all.

Pogo: Is the talking ape who watches over the house and family. Their mother is a 1950’s robot housewife and was created by Reginald.

The seven each have their own issues and differences in consequence of their upbringing.

They all come together for their father’s funeral when Five re-emerges saying the world is going to end and that it’s up to them to stop it.
