Get Up to Speed at Long Beach
The 48th Annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is continuing the weekend long on April 15 having the final practice sessions of the weekend, IndyCar’s qualifying session, and multiple races.
The HSMA Practice will begin their second and final practice session before the first HSMA Historic F1 Challenge Race at 9:55 a.m. This race is featuring cars of former Formula 1 (F1) legends like Keke Rosberg, Alain Prost, Mario Andretti, and more.
NTT IndyCar Series will have its last practice session before their qualifying and Firestone Fast 6 sessions at 12:05 p.m. Pato O’Ward (#5) of Arrow McLaren set the fastest lap during the first practice session of the weekend on April 14. Controversy is stirring up already as a kerb setup on turn 5 of the track was changed overnight.
The IMSA Sportswear Grand Prix of Long Beach is starting at 2 p.m. Drivers Rick Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque of Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06 are starting in pole position. Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun of Meyer Shank Racing complete the front row starting at second.
Both Stadium Super Trucks Series and Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup have their races in the middle of the day, starting at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. respectively. The day will finish with the second Formula Drift Super Drift Challenge Competition of the weekend.
