Mexican pop-rock band Mana closed out a two-show weekend for their “México, Lindo y Querido” tour at the Kia Forum, marking their 16th sold-out show at the venue. The band became the act with the most sell-outs during their 2022 residency and solidified their spot on November 24 and 25.
The Guadalajara, Mexico native band has become a staple in the Latin American community across generations through their music and philanthropic work. Mana highlighted two causes during their LA shows showing their support for communities far and near.
A huge inflatable sea turtle was lowered onto the stage during their performance for “Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran,” a song dedicated to everyone working with their foundation, Selva Negra, which was started by the band in 1996 to help save marine life, restore ecosystems, and promote environmental education.
The band also announced during the shows that a portion of the ticket sales would be donated to local street vendors with the help of Community Power Collective, a Los Angeles-based organization.
Mana did not fail their audiences, bringing a fun and energy-fueled performance. They performed some of their greatest hits including “Oye Mi Amor, Rayando El Sol, and Mariposa Traicionera.” The band also played a reggae tribute to Bob Marley and the Wailers.
The band had a make-shift stage added opposite the main stage and performed a portion of their show there, making sure that all of their fans had a great view of the show regardless of their seats.
The exhilarating, nearly two-and-a-half-hour performance, broke records and set standards. If you want to catch a show from the iconic band, the next appearance in the LA area will be at the Dodger Stadium for the 2023 Besame Mucho Fest on December 2nd.
