Armed man causes lockdown at Rose Hills Memorial Park
An armed man was arrested at Rose Hills Memorial Park after allegedly threatening a woman on Wednesday. He was on the grounds in his motor home and refused to leave. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department informed Rio Hondo College of the armed man around 1 p.m.
Parts of the College and Rose Hills Memorial Park were put on lock down to ensure safety of the area. Cemetery visitors were unable to leave the area until the lock down was lifted.
According to Deputy Miguel Meza-Palomo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the armed man was taken into custody after peacefully surrendering around 3:30 p.m.
Some Rio Hondo sports affected by the lock down were rescheduled.
