Extreme Fighting: Lights Out
On Saturday May 6, Lights Out Extreme Fighting had their fighting event form their promoter former All-Pro NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman. This event was live on Pay-per-view on Fubo for fans who could not attend the event to see from home. Merriman gives up and coming fighters an opportunity to showcase their skills.
Main Card
Richard Salazar fought Jay Librando. Salazar took the win via Knockout in the third round. Noah Davis took on Isaak Lau. Davis came into this fight with him yet to win his first fight. Pedro Rodriguez took on Elias Salcedo. Rodriguez wasted no time in going in right away with the strikes. Rodriguez got the first round KO defeating Elias.
First Round Finishers Face Off
For the next fight fans saw two fighters who in their previous fight got first round stoppages. It was Bailey Pickett versus Sunny Kumar Gharu. Fans were excited for this one as most were expecting a first round stoppage. They got it as Pickett got Gharu in a triangle choke arm bar for the win via submission. Pickett continues to impress as he is making a name for himself in the world of MMA(Mix Martial Arts).
Rest of the Card
Ian Morken took on Gerardo Qunitana in a bout that went all three rounds. Morken dominated the whole fight with ground work. By the third round Quintana looked tired but still put up a fight. That third round was all for Morken with more takedowns and ground control. The winner was Morken via decision.
The next bout was Miguel Ceja taking on Carlos Morales. Ceja won the first round with some spectacular takedown defense. He landed some good shots on Morales who seemed hurt by the hits. With a good right hand punch from Ceja he tagged Moreno well, knocking him down the canvas for the ground and pound. Ceja won via TKO(Technical Knockout).
Next up was Christopher Hernandez taking on Daniel Ayala. This was a good fight from the start. Ayala was tagging and connecting Hernandez who was also punching back. Good back and forth action in the first round from both. In the second round Hernandez got the TKO win with an impressive display of finishing from Hernandez.
Gary Evans took on Julian Julian Duckenfield for the next bout. This was a first round stoppage TKO win for Duckenfield who knocked down Evans with a good punch to finish the fight off with some ground and pound.
Co-Main Event
The next bout was the co-main event as Alberto Romo took on Matheus Camilo. The Brazilian Camilo also wasted no time as he unleashed a good fury of punches on Romo. Camilo got the first round TKO win. Romo may have lost that bout but showed a lot of fight to stay in the fight.
Main Event
The Main event had Tommy Aaron versus Jose Matuz. Aaron came out with MMA Star Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson in his corner. Aaron got the first round stoppage win with a rear naked chokehold to Matuz. Impressive display of ground work from Aaron to transition into the rear naked chokehold.
