Moments before the biggest game in the UEFA Champions League at the historic Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. Real Madrid will host the first leg against Manchester City.

First Half

Real Madrid host the first leg of the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City. Two powerhouses will meet once again after last year’s Champions League semi final from Real Madrid over Manchester City. In the fifth minute Real Madrid had a great counter attack but number nine Karim Benzema was too ahead to receive a good ball. Since then Manchester City have dominated in possession and knocked on the door three times already. No trouble for Thibaut Courtois as he makes the saves. Madrid being more patient on the defense allowing city to play the possession but are very deadly on the counter attack.

Madrid are more dangerous on the counter attack. They won’t need possession as much as they create danger every time they can get the ball away from City. Game has been very physical with a lot of fouls. In the 35th minute of the game Real Madrid scores first with number 21 Vinicius Jr. With a strike from outside the box. Madrid led 1-0. Madrid continued to defend their lead by fouling the opponents. Smart fouls to stop the attack.

Second Half

Second half: Both teams came in the second half attacking. Both with a very good chance to score. City are having a hard time in defense whenever Vini Jr has the ball in attack. The Brazilian moves and creates space to open up danger for Madrid’s attacks. Manchester City goal at the 66th minute of the game. Number 17 Kevin De Bruyne. With a huge strike from outside the box to level the game for citizens. Game is tied 1-1. Just when Real Madrid were the better team, City score their goal to tie up the game.

Ederson Moraes has been City’s best player as he has managed to keep two goals out keeping City in the game. Antonio Rudiger had a good game defensively as he made sure to not let Erling Haaland have any chance in attack. Pep Guardiola made no substitutions for Manchester City as they drew against Real Madrid 1-1. The Room for error narrows down as the second leg will take place in the City of Manchester stadium on Wednesday May 17. That game will decide who will be a finalist and go to Istanbul for the UEFA Champions League final.
