Roadrunners comeback against the falcons
The Roadrunners caught a break. They finally got a huge win after being on a two-game losing streak against El Camino last month. Thursday’s game was supposed to take place Feb. 28, but due to the rain it was postponed until Thursday, March 2. The Roadrunners had a conference game against Cerritos College.
The Final Score of the Game was 6-4
At the top of the fifth inning, Falcons player, #25, Nico Briones hit a home run to make it 3-2. During the bottom of the sixth inning, the Roadrunner, #5, Diego Flores, hit a double RBI (runs batted in). Then, #2, Aaron Gutierrez, scored to make it 4-2.
And then, at the top of the seventh inning, from Cerritos College, #38, Daniel Castellanos, walked advanced #29 Carlos Vega to second base and advanced #25 Nico Briones to third base and #15 Andy Vega scored to make it 4-3. and then the falcons #11 miles Hughes walked RBI #38 Daniel castellanos advanced to second base then #29 Nico Briones scored, the game is all tied up 4-4 still top of the seventh.
While at the bottom of the eighth inning, Roadrunner, #5, Diego Flores, hit a double RBI so #26, Dylan Schumacher, could advance to third base, which made it easy for, #8, Joshua Perez and Derek Cruz, #23, to both score. That made the final score of 6-4.
Speaking with Coach Mike Salazar Salazar after the game, he talked about the game against Cerritos College being postponed and how they prepare for comeback games, like these, saying “We want to be ready to play everyday. It was a nice day today and it was all cleared up,” he said. “We prepare to be in tough games and to be ready to go. They did a good job at realizing what they were prepared for. Every game is pretty good, so just be ready for every game, just doing our job, just to prepare for a good game on Saturday, March. 4.”
