Haskins Falls into the Redskins Lap
Leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft, former Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins was expected to be a top ten pick. Over months of mock drafts and film study experts thought he would go 6th overall to the giants. Instead the New York Giants ended up taking the Duke quarterback Daniel Jones. This came as a shock to the sports world because many analysts thought Jones should be a late round pick. The big arguments was that Haskins put up great numbers against top level competition while playing for Ohio State. On the other hand Daniel Jones played decent against other decent competition.
Haskins eventually was drafted 15th overall to the Washington Redskins. When the pick was announced he didn’t seem to happy because of how far down he went. “The league done messed up,” said Haskins during an interview. He grew up a Giants fan and really wanted to play for that franchise. Now that he has his chance in Washington he’ll do his best to prove the 14 other teams that didn’t pick him wrong.
