Rio Hondo Has a Health Office?
Rio Hondo has a health center? When was that?! I myself as a student of Rio Hondo College would’ve never known about it until I had a wrist pain and went to the school’s health center located in SS230.
After talking to the nice lady, Anza Smith who is the registered nurse, she helped me with easing the pain and talking to me with a warm-hearted soul. A couple days later into the month of August, I came by to talk to her about the services the health center provided because I was curious.
From what I could get, there are many free health services available to the students who attend Rio Hondo College and had paid for the semester health fee of $19 per semester and $15 for the summer.
And if you’re a student who wishes to find this room quicker, the actual name of the room is the “Rio Hondo College Student Health & Psychological Services” room or aka room SS230.
And I could bet that ‘you’ thought there was only a health center here that provided the services: first aid care; diagnoses & treatment of short-term medical issues; hearing/vision exams; blood pressure checks; height to weight measurements; contraceptive counseling which is safe-sex talk; referrals for special tests like STD tests; health talks; sick rooms available to students who need it; and over-the-counter drugs for miniscule illnesses huh?
But you’d be right, because they also have psychology graduate students who’re available to counsel or help those with problems. So if you’re a student who attends Rio Hondo College, check it out in room SS230 or call them at 562-908-3438 for assistance. They are open from Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and a warning to ‘you’ guys who read this article as an extra tip, they close during lunch hours from 1 p.m.-2 p.m.
