With election day getting closer and closer, which is in November 6, I feel like I can’t stress enough about the importance of going out and voting.
By the time this article is posted and printed for people to read, one of the first major presidential debates, which regards domestic policy, will have already taken place.
With one debate down, and only three more to go, I wonder if all student’s will be as observant to our politics as I will be.
No matter what your beliefs are, what political party you associate with, or what values you hold on to, I feel like everyone has a social responsibilty to partake in the this year’s electoral process.
I already have the dates of all upcoming debates wired to my brain and will obligate myself to view and listen to all of them so I can be informed about what possible policies will shape our country for the next couple of years.
Now I know there are people out there that don’t care who gets elected to take control of our nation’s highest office, but to those people I say you should at least put in a little effort to vote, even if it is with enthusiasm. I don’t see why someone would just ignore their right to cast a ballot, all it takes is a couple of minutes of your time.
Now I am not trying to start an argument, but it just baffles me on how so many of my peers and friends that I talk to, don’t care about politics.
Sure you can call politics corrupt, unfair, and even “rigged” but in the end it affects every part of our lives and that is something to be think about.
All I am saying is that If you do your part and vote, when all is said and done, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you partially helped decide the political outcome for our country.
