Hispanic Scholarship Fund application workshop to be held on campus
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund Rio Hondo Chapter will be hosting a Scholarship Application Workshop on Mar. 11 from 12 – 1 p.m.
The HSF scholarship targets students who are planning to transfer to a four-year university this fall with awards ranging between $1,000 – $5,000.
The application workshop will provide students with information on the scholarships HSF offers and tips on how to answer the essay questions.
In order to apply for the scholarship students must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:
- Be of Hispanic heritage
- Be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year university, or graduate school, during the Fall 2016 semester
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or state based financial aid application (if applicable)
