National Coming Out Awareness Film and Discussion
Rio Hondo will be hosting a National Coming Out Awareness film and discussion in room SS305 on Oct. 29.
The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature the documentary “Out Late”, which shares the powerful testimonies of five individuals who waited until their late 50’s and 60’s to come out as lesbian, gay, and transgender.
October marks the month-long annual observation of LGBT History Month, first celebrated and founded by Missouri high-school history teacher Rodney Wilson in 1994.
Following the film, a discussion will be held discussing LGBT issues and ways to support LGBT community, both on campus and off.
Nachos and light refreshments will also be provided for attendees.
