El Paisano’s staff of 2019-2020 participated in JACC 2021 again and won 18 awards overall. JACC  is a state-wide junior college convention that consist of writing, editing, and photography competitions as well as guest speakers giving advice to staff and instructors. The keynote speakers who participated in the event were Major Garrett from CBS Linsey Davis from NBC. The El Paisano staff members who attended this year were: Lorenzo Arce, Mimi Castellanos, Enrique Median, Fernando Ramos, Viviana Reyes, John Rodriguez, and Raymond Luna. El Paisano earned the Best of SNO award. Online scholastic journalism, and two distinguished news stories come from El Paisano’s staff. EL Paisano’s layout and broadcasting department gained distinction. Also rewarded was La Cima Magazine.
