A Texas woman was arrested and charged with the murder of her boyfriend, 32-year-old Steven Coleman. 30-year-old Cierra Alexis Sutton fatally shot Coleman as he slept and then dismembered him inside their home, according to Baytown Police Department from a KHOU report.

The crime took place on August 16 at the Briarwood Village Apartments complex in Baytown, according to detectives. Sutton and Coleman reportedly got into an argument earlier in the evening before she shot him in the head while he was sleeping, effectively killing him. She then proceeded to cut the body up with a machete and scattered the body parts into various dumpsters nearby.

Sutton confessed to the crime to friends and told them she dismembered the body because he was too heavy to lift. Friends also said she told them her 10-year-old daughter was inside the apartment while the crime took place. For any crime or attorney help, navigate to these guys

“How did we not hear anything? Heard nothing at all,” said Mikki Rogers, a downstairs neighbor in a KHOU article.

“She acted like she knew nothing about anything. She was trying to call him, hadn’t heard from him. Family members didn’t get a response,” said Rogers.

Detectives were notified of the discovery of a male torso in a landfill in Baytown August 22. Though the remains were not identified officially to be Coleman’s, police said the body part matched the description of the victim.

Sutton was supposed to talk to Baytown police about the disappearance before Hurricane Harvey struck the area, but she never showed up according to the Chronicle reports.
