To kick off the start of a new year members of the Rio Hondo College Leadership Academy cohort volunteered their time to help set up for the grand opening of Interfaith Food Center in Santa Fe Springs on August 17-18.
In order to enhance employee’s innate leadership abilities at all levels of campus, 13 of Rio Hondo’s finest faculty and staff created a yearlong program known as the cohort. Those who have participated in the program have gained the experience needed to pursue higher education and enter all areas of both public and private sectors.
Serving as the faculty coordinator of the cohort, EOPS Counselor Dennyse Clark says “in the program, staff members learn about conflict management, ethics and values, team building and more.”
“It’s a really wonderful program” mentions Clark. “Employees, whether they are faculty or classified staff who may otherwise never get to work together, get a chance to bond.”
Applications for the cohort are due sometime in March and those accepted are usually alerted sometime in late April. This includes a retreat and meetings on one Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For those interested in being part of next year’s cohort and would like to receive more information feel free without hesitation to contact Dennyse Clark at [email protected]
Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
