Rad coffee is a fresh, off the grind coffee shop in the city of Upland. It caters to everyone, with drinks for the whole family. Walking in you’ll notice a punk-rock-emo theme with music playing at an upbeat tone.

It prides itself on being the first Punk Rock coffee shop in the world and the creators took as much of their teenage years as possible and incorporated them into a fun concept with music from Deftones to Morrissey, and many more in their ever-changing playlist.

Their whipped cream goes beyond the traditional norm, creating a pop of color and personality to each latte or frozen concoction. Celine Leon, general manager for the shop, kindly took time from her caffeinated day to speak with me in detail about the concept. “We have a vast variety of organic ingredients and have used them even before the bigger guys brought it mainstream”  

The cookies and scream treat is mixed with cookie batter and ice cream in a coffee base and topped with blue whipped cream and tiny cookies afloat. What’s more, 90 percent of the menu is vegan friendly including scones and brownies made fresh daily.
