HBO’s “Chernobyl” Miniseries to Debut this Summer
HBO’s newest miniseries “Chernobyl” is set to hit the service very soon. In the series, we will follow a drama based on the most famous nuclear meltdown disaster in history. Where in 1986 power plants exploded and sent radioactive energy across Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. While showing why it happened and telling the remarkable stories of the heroes who fought and fell.
This series is very much star-studded with names like Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgard, and Emily Watson. Watson and Harris will be scientists (Ulana Khomyuk and Valery Legasov) who were tasked with getting to the bottom of the deadly accident. While Skarsgård will play Boris Shcherbina, the man responsible for leading the USSR government commission in the wake of the disaster.
The miniseries is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and is directed by Johan Renck. Chernobyl will premiere on May 6th, 2019 on HBO.
