Hulu’s Wu-Tang Series Hires Actor of Moonlight Fame
Hulu had announced since last year that they will begin production on a ten episode drama series. The show will be based around the rap group the Wu-Tang Clan. This news had surfaced October 2019 and hasn’t had anything to show for it till recently. Deadline has claimed that the show has already hired six members to the cast. Shameik Moore of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, Ashton Sanders of Moonlight, Erika Alexander, Zolee Griggs, Siddiq Saunderson, and Marcus Callender have all been cast. Saunderson will be taking the role of Ghostface Killah, while Sanders will acting as the leader of the group RZA.
The series in aiming for a release in 2019 with the idea to show the origin of the group and its members during their iconic up rise in the 90’s. The series also seems to be in the right hands as RZA himself is one of the executive producers. While GZA, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, and the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard serving as Consulting Producers respectively.
Fans of Wu-Tang have a lot to take in as last month Showtime revealed a Wu-Tang Clan Documentary as well. It will apparently be directed by Sacha Jenkins and be separated in four parts boasting to have never before seen footage and some early performances. Right now is the best time for anyone to be fan or become a fan of the Wu-Tang Clan.
