Rolling Loud Festival 2017 Recap
All of America’s hip hop stars reunited in Miami, Florida to put on one of the best music festivals to date competing with the likes of world renowned, Coachella Music Festival. Rolling Loud took place this past weekend and was full of epic headliners all spread across three days and two stages. At Dope Entertainment’s third annual Rolling Loud Music Festival in Bayfront Park, the lineup was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Wayne, Migos, ASAP Rocky, and so much more.
The first day which was Friday was headlined by the likes of ASAP Rocky, Mac Miller,Flatbush Zombies, Lil Yachty, and the night was closed by hip hop legend, Lil Wayne. Friday was the first day of the festival and the number of tickets sold and number of people in attendance was way over than the allowed capacity. The festival was subject to many people sneaking in which made the venue way more cramped than expected. The number of tickets sold was a little over 40,000 and the amount of people in attendance was over 60,000. ASAP Rocky was in full control of the crows when he brought newly released from jail rapper, XXXTentacion. The crowd went wild when ASAP Rocky and XXX collaborated on his hit song, “Look At Me”.
The next day was highlighted by the likes of young and upcoming rappers, Rich Chigga, Ski Mask the Slump God, Joey Badass, and XXXTentacion. The young core of rappers were slated to kick off the festival madness during the day and did not fail to electrify the crowd set after set to form a five hour block of youth emotion and madness. The crowd was electrified by the likes of XXXtentacion who was performing for the first time since being released from jail and the main act who the crowd was anticipating. The crowd was filled with energy by this young jolt of energy before established headliners, Young Thug and Kendrick Lamar, closed out the night.
The curators of Rolling Loud set up this festival to finish with a bang set up by the biggest headliners of the festival. The festival was slated to be filled with electrifying acts and was kicked off by Los Angeles rapper, YG who set up the next hours of pure energy until the end of the festival. YG was followed by arguably the fastest growing rapper at the festival coming off the fame of his new album and his single, “Magnolia”. Playboi Carti electrified the crowd with the help of ASAP Mob and ASAP Rocky when he performed, “Magnolia”. Playboi Carti was then followed by Atlanta Trap King, Gucci Mane who set up the stage for the villainous up and coming star out of Atlanta, 21 Savage. Gucci Mane’s performance leading to 21 Savage was symbolic and similar to a passing of the torch moment. 21 Savage then set up for the next act by Atlanta’s biggest rap trio, Migos, who electrified the crowd by performing their Billboard topping hit, “Bad and Boujee”. The intensity only increased when rap’s purple haired monster, Lil Uzi Vert, took to the stage and how the crowd going ballistic and finishing off his performance by jumping 20 feet off the stage into a sea off fans while performing his best song, “Money Longer”. The night was then closed by the best performer of our generation, Travis Scott, who finished off the crowd by performing his hit song, “Goosebumps”, Â just in time for last headliner, Future.
