Resident Evil 7 Review
The latest installment to Resident Evil is a horrific masterpiece. This is one of the few horror games that kept me at the edge of my seat in a long time. Capcom really kept true to the original RE roots by staying as a survival horror game but at the same time adding the new first person aspect. Which I might add is the cherry on top of it, it really immerses you in the game.
It constantly forces you to look over your shoulder and make sure you’re safe, even if you already cleared the room. Capcom made sure to keep you scared with sound effects such as wind hitting the doors and knocking over cans etc all the little stuff they add in the game gives it all the more suspense.
One of my favorite nostalgia parts of the game was organizing everything in your backpack just like in the old RE it forces you to be neat and choose what you deem is important. The story was amazing on it’s on leaving you with little to know. All you know is that there’s these crazy red necks trying to kill you and you have to kill them before they kill you. Unraveling the mystery of what has happened to the Baker family was beautiful and with all plot twist that this game throws at you I’m still wondering about the ending, trying to connect all the pieces.
If you love horror games then I can guarantee this is for you I can almost guarantee you’ll love it I can’t wait to go back and replay this game again. Also if you know Resident Evil then you know they also like to keep franchises going so fingers crossed for a RE8 with the same tone as this one.
