A Look Back at ‘Furious 7’
Universal Studios has announced the release dates of three new films. They are set to come out on April 14, April 19, and April 2, of 2017, 2019, and 2021, respectively. Those three films are the next three installments to the Fast and Furious saga. The latest installment of the franchise, Furious 7, had a big opening weekend.
The death of Paul Walker sparked a lot of sadness in the fans of the franchise and among others. One thing was certain, the people wanted to know how the film was going to be finished without Paul Walker. But it was done and the film was finished in a way to honor walker.
The film was just as action packed as the rest. There were cars, there were guns, and there were girls; you cant forget about the girls. Any who follow the franchise will know that the new villain in town, Ian Shaw, played by Jason Statham, is out for revenge. In the end of the sixth film Owen Shaw, played by Luke Evans is killed, and now his brother is out to avenge his death. The team of the Fast and Furious franchise, Letty, Dom, Brian, Roman, Mia, Tej, now have a new villain to defeat, and, spoiler alert, they do.
The action was far from disappointing. The most dramatic rescue mission happened, and the team jumps out of a plane in cars! The team had to parachute off of a military plane in order to conduct their rescue mission. Once they do jump out of the plane, the real action begins, and yes, there is more.
Guns are never a missing part in any action film, and Furious 7 did not disappoint. As always, there has to be music to accompany such exhilarating action. The sound track to the film was filled with catchy tunes, explosive bass, and sounds for the more heart-warming moments.
Every action filled moment of the film had music to go with it. Artists like Wiz Khalifa, T.I., David Guetta, and Skylar Grey, just to name a few, all had tracks in the soundtrack album. One of the most noted songs of 2015 was See You Again, by Wiz Khalifa, featuring Charlie Puth. This is the song that closed the movie, a heart-warming ending, all in memory of Paul Walker. The song was written specifically to close the movie, and gave a wonderful send off to one of the family members of those working on this film, Paul Walker.
Even in its most heart-felt moment, we see the love and exhilaration of fast cars. The closing scene is Dom and Brian in their last ride together, along with the song See You Again. Definitely a tearjerker. I Will Return, another song from the soundtrack, was in memory of Walker, and although not as recognized as See You Again, the song has a strong message for the late Walker.
The film and soundtrack were no disappointment, and although good, there’s always room for improvement. The C.G.I. could have been better in regards to the cars falling from the sky, but hey, how do you perfect a parachuting car? The film has its moments, leaving people at the edge of their seats, and overall, it is a film worth watching. It doesn’t hurt that the soundtrack is full of songs that will make you want to watch the movie.
