Valentines week is quickly approaching, and many people are still clueless as of how they are going to celebrate. For those couples whom are Disney fans or annual pass holders like myself, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is having a special, limited-edition celebration. For the first time in Disneyland history, the park will be decorated with hearts and warm colors to set the mood of the week. Guests will be able to walk in the park and enjoy the bright festivities with a “lovey dovey” feel. Disneyland’s imagineers are very creative and detailed to a point where most people may not even notice the small changes. There will be some Disney pastries with festive colored toppings, and they will plant new pink and red flowers in place of their usual colorful fields. To capture the memories, there will also be special opportunities to take photos with the princesses and their princes, who almost never come out together during a typical day at the park. Mickey will also be with Minnie for photos, and Donald will be posing with his lady, Daisy.
Though all rides and attractions will remain in the same state as usual during this weeklong celebration, the restaurants will have a small twist, including special candle lit dinners for two with fixed prices. If you’re looking for a good barbeque plate that keeps on coming, visit the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ Buffet in Frontier Land. For only twenty-five dollars per person, you and your spouse can enjoy a messy, finger licking dinner that will leave you in a food comatose. For more of a classier dining experience, the Blue Bayou is actually located inside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Their menu offers smaller portions for a larger price, though; the atmosphere is romantic, and dim lit with the sounds and smells of the ride close by. Another fancy type of restaurant that the Disneyland resort has to offer is located in the California Adventure Park, called the Carthay Circle Theatre. With a fully loaded bar and soft romantic music playing in the background, the romance levels will be at an all high while enjoying your dinner for two.
At the end of the evening, Sleeping Beauty’s castle will be lit up auras of pink and red to match the festivities. Couples can’t miss the opportunity to take a photo in front of the limited time castle with Valentine decorations. To top off the night, the firework show will feature some slightly different visuals and a different soundtrack to match the ideas. If you are still clueless as to what you want to do with your loved one this upcoming week, stop by the Disneyland resort and check out the limited time magic. Don’t forget to buy your lady some of the special Valentine’s Minnie ears or other rare collectibles! It all ends on the seventeenth of February.
