“Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union received varied responses to her comments in her interview on the “Sway In The Morning” radio show last week and took to Twitter to defend and clarify them.

In the interview (video featured above), Union took to explaining that equality is not just for in front of closed doors, but behind them as well.
“Listen, it’s all about equality and a lot of times especially women feel like I’m going to lose him if I don’t do XYZ and there’s never any thought to the woman enjoying or having any expectation of enjoying sex,” Union said.

“I’m just a vessel for somebody else’s sexual gratification, and we have to take that back. We have to demand equality everywhere.” she stated when discussing certain sexual acts  that are considered “taboo” but should be reciprocated, such as “eating a man’s butt.”

Twitter went crazy with memes and jokes about Union’s statements in the interview, assuming that Gabrielle Union, was basically saying she eats her basketball star husband Dwayne Wade’s butt.

There also were many tweets criticizing Union for openly discussing her sex life with Dwayne Wade on the internet.

Union responded with class and candor in a thread of tweets letting folks know that selfishness in the bedroom is not realistic and a grown woman discussing her sex life should NOT be a problem.

“Judgement about sexual gratification is what keeps people sexually repressed & having uneven sexual experiences.”

“Whats shocking is that people are shocked that a grown woman has the balls to speak openly & honestly about sex. Y’all are comedy.”

“I’m 45 & just got married, sooo my sexual experience covers DECADES lol my sexual life didn’t just start with my 2nd marriage. God bless yal.” she tweeted.

Gabrielle Union is in fact a grown woman and being grown means discussing grown things. Clearly, Judgment for it is not accepted, especially from her.
