Woman Arrested for Killer Clown Cold Case

Police in Florida arrested a woman accused of dressing like a clown and fatally shooting her would-be future husband’s wife twenty-seven years ago. Sheila Keen Warren, 54-years-old, was arrested September 26 in Washington County, Virginia, without incident and was charged with first-degree murder, said the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in a statement.

Marlene Warren, 40-years-old, was killed May 26, 1990 after opening the door to a clown who gave her flowers and balloons before shooting her. Witnesses said they heard the gunshot and Marlene falling to the ground, the clown then got into a car and drove away. Marlene was hospitalized, but died two days later.

Sheila was identified as a suspect by police, but was never arrested. In 2014 the case was reopened by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit.

“Witnesses were re-contacted and additional DNA analysis was conducted,” the Sheriff’s Office said in its release according to an article from ABC News. “It was also learned that Sheila Keen had married Michael Warren, Marlene Warren’s husband, in 2002. Both had been living in Tennessee operating a restaurant together. As a result of the investigation, probable cause was established linking Sheila Keen Warren to the murder of Marlene Warren.”

The case was presented to a court, where a true bill for First Degree Murder was issued, leading to a warrant for Sheila’s arrest. It is currently unknown if Shelia has an attorney and police did not say whether or not Michael Warren was involved in the death of his wife.
