Rio Hondo took on Compton today at home in the jungle. The Dirty Birds finished on top with a score of 10-4 in 9 innings. 

Rio hondo had starting pitcher Ryan Perez on the mound for them with an outstanding performance (6IP 3ER 1BB 7SO).

Compton struck first in the 3rd inning putting up two with a double and a groundout. 

Rio Hondo bounced back putting up one run each inning til the 7th inning. Where Aaron Gutierrez and Stephen Chavez each drew walks to start the inning. Josh Perez singled, then the Dirty Bird’s big hitter Dylan Schumacher come up to the plate putting one into the outfield scoring 2 runs. Later in the inning Nolan Anguiano doubles clearing the bases scoring 3 more.

Going into the 8th Compton adds to the score column still trailing 9-4. Road runners keep applying pressure adding yet another run to the board making it a 10-4 ball game.

David Medrano then comes in to close out the game for Rio Hondo striking out one of the last 3 batters. Adding another to the Win column making their overall record 21-15. 

Next for the Roadrunners

Rio hondo plays Compton Saturday at Compton college to finish the series hoping to win it 2-1. Next week tues, thu, and fri the RoadRunners will play East Los Angeles College Huskies in the final series of the season.
