Angel City FC took their first flight at their opening game on their inaugural season at the Banc of California Stadium as they defeated North Carolina Courage 2-1 on April 29. With an attendance of 22.,000 ACFC fans and the first win at home, history was written Friday night.

As seen on CBS Sports Network, the atmosphere of the ACFC  fans at the sold out Banc of California Stadium on April 29th, seemed electric and they looked very proud to finally see a professional women’s soccer match in LA.

 

ACFC’S All Female Ownership

This ownership consists  of well known Hollywood Actresses, Musicians, former and current female or male athletes, wealthy female entrepreneurs & investors, and former U.S Women’s Soccer National Team members. Some well known females like Natalie Portman, Jenifer Garner, Serena Williams, Billie Jean King and other females who are part of the ownership group.

 

ACFC’S OPENING MATCH

Overall, the final score was 2-1 in favor of Angel City FC over the North Carolina Courage for their first ever win in the team history.

KEY PLAYS AND CONTRIBUTORS

 

  As a result, the  first goal in team history was made in the 3rd minute of first half of the game by #17 Vanessa Giles with a wide open head shot goal 

On the other hand, the second goal in the 13 minute of the first half by #18 June Endo with a breakaway from the North Carolina defenders  to get the ball to the corner of the net for the goal.
