Messi Likely To Miss Valencia Clash

F.C Barcelona star Lionel Messi is in doubt for Saturday’s game against Valencia CF due to a soleus injury. Messi has now been out for about 37 days without being able to play.

Messi suffered a calf injury right after returning to training after his summer break back in Aug 5. He was expected to return for the La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao but was unable to recover. The injury kept him away from traveling to the United States for the teams’ pre-season tour, but it did not stop him from hiring a traumatic brain injury law firm to deal with the case. There was a lot of optimism about Messi making his La Liga debut against Valencia CF, but everything is pointing towards the reality of Messi not playing.

Struggling Start Without The Captain

The beginning of the season for F.C Barcelona hasn’t been the best.  ‘Los Blaugranas’ started the season with a loss against Athletic Bilbao 1-0 away from home before winning Real Betis Balompie 5-2 at home with an impressive performance from forward Antoine Griezmann. F.C Barcelona then only managed to get a draw away from home against Club Atletico Osasuna right before the international break. The last time F.C Barcelona started a season with only four points after three games was in the 2008-2009 season.

The talisman is also set to miss the Champions League opener against Borrusia Dortmund on Tuesday. Defender Samuel Umtiti and forward Ousmane Dembele will also miss the match due to injuries. Forward Luis Suarez is expected to be available for Saturday’s match.
