Golden State Recap

Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics crushed the defending champions Golden State Warriors 128-95 at The Oracle Arena in Oakland. The Celtics dominated the whole game leading by 25 points heading into halftime. Gordon Hayward played his best game since returning from a gruesome leg injury last season by scoring 30 points off the bench. This was the best basketball the Boston Celtics played all season.

Celtics dominate the defending champs

This was the Warriors worst home loss ever since Steve Kerr took over in 2014. The Celtics scored an impressive 73 points in the first 24 minutes of the game. Gordon Hayward scored 19 of his 30 points in the first half, with the Boston Celtics shooting an outstanding 63 percent from the field.

Warriors slump

This was the fourth loss in six games for the Defending Champions. The Golden State Warriors were coming off a 120-117 win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday in a potential Nba finals preview. Stephen Curry was held to just 23 points and Kevin Durant scored only 18 points for the Defending Champions. The Warriors suffered their fifth home loss of the season by 20 or more points.

Boogie Cousins loses his cool

As the Warriors continue their struggles, the addition of Demarcus Cousins has not helped them at all. The Defending Champions signed Boogie Cousins in free agency which automatically made the Warriors among the best starting lineups in NBA history. Boogie Cousins took out all of his frustration on the Boston Celtics as he received a technical for exchanging shoves with celtics players.

Steve Kerr statement on Celtics game

Coach Steve Kerr said “ We were not flying around. We were not giving the sort of effort it takes to win the NBA game”. He also said “ It starts with a passion, an anger, an intensity, and it wasn’t there tonight”. Their last four losses were all the same as they fell behind early, and ended up losing the game. Former MVP Stephen Curry said “ We just have to want it, to want to figure it out”.

The race for the West No. 1 seed

Although the Warriors have dropped four losses in six games, they are still in the top of the Western Conference. They lead the Denver Nuggets by 1.5 games for the top seed in the conference. They will face the Nuggets on Friday in Oakland, and hope to secure the West’s No.1 seed.
