The Blue Devils trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half. As Williamson was sidelined, the Blue Devils looked for Barrett and No. 3 option Cameron Reddish to step up their game. Reddish was on the bench for most of the game with three early fouls which led to Barrett as their only scoring threat.

Blue Devils avoid embarrassing loss

Barrett ended the first half with 15 points which helped the Blue Devils lead 35-34 heading to the second half. The Blue Devils trailed by 10 points in the second half with 16 minutes remaining. Barrett helped the Blue Devils overcome their deficit and avoid an embarrassing loss at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Heading into the tourney, Duke hope to get Zion Williamson back on the floor.

Coach K status on Zion

Duke Blue Devils face rival North Carolina on Saturday at Chapel Hill. Coach Krzyzewski spoke on Williamson status for Saturday’s game “ I don’t think he’ll be ready for Saturday. I have to be careful not to push this, but I would be surprised if he wasn’t ready by the ACC tournament”.

Zion Williamson injury against North Carolina

Zion Williamson, who is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2019 Nba draft was sidelined for his fourth consecutive game. Williamson suffered a knee injury on February 20 against rivals North Carolina. Less than a minute into the game, Williamson lost possession and slipped which caused him to rip through his shoe.
