The Lady Roadrunners continued to play aggressive and winning challenges on defense which would give the Roadrunners a lot of ball possessions.

Minutes later Sierra Kaufman gets a good pass to Natalie Preston up the middle while Preston finishes the play with a goal and extends the lead and up by 2 before halftime.

The Lady Roadrunners continued to dominate physically and mentally. Kaufman in the first half is proving to be a huge part in the success in the first half playing with determination and physicality.

As the second half began Kaufman left the game in pain with an apparent leg injury.

Tracy Macias of Rio Hondo received the first yellow card of the game for being too aggressive on an opponent. Kaufman returned to the game and look better than she did in the first half. A great pass to Preston up the middle but could not be converted to a goal.

Kaufman was not done as she completes another great pass to Micaela Estrada. Estrada took her stance and aimed right at the goal and kicking a bullet from approximately 30 yards striking the goalie from COD and going through the defenders hands and into the net. With that goal Rio Hondo would shut out College of the Desert and give the Roadrunners a much needed win to help their playoff hopes.

The Rio Hondo Roadrunners hosted the San Bernardino Valley College Wolverines. Coming off a win versus Victor Valley College the Lady Roadrunners were in second in the foothill conference behind talented Chaffey College. San Bernardino Valley was behind Rio Hondo in the Foothill Conference. For the Roadrunners unfortunately the Wolverines would ruin the Lady Roadrunner’s last home game and last game of the season with a 1-0 victory.

In the first half an early opportunity for the Roadrunners when Vanessa Carlos was dribbling the ball when a Wolverine came with aggressive defense and won the ball. The first yellow card came in the second half from a Wolverine player. Later in the game San Bernardino Valley scores a huge goal what has seemed to be a bicycle kick by a Wolverine player that went over Rio Hondo’s goalie. As the game went on SBVC seemed to have been the more aggressive team on the field. But later in the game Sierra Kaufman was challenging a Wolverine player when all of a sudden she tries to make a tackle on the player and falls awkwardly onto the floor and what has seemed to be a devastating knee injury. She was later carried off the field by Rio Hondo’s Athletic trainer.

It was a huge loss for the Roadrunner’s on defense and offense.

Moving to the game another penalty going to a Wolverine player which was now a red card which means getting taken off the field and not playing in the next match.

The Wolverines would unfortunately get the win and improve their chances in getting into the playoffs finishing the year with a record of 13-2-3 moving them to second and dropping Rio to third. Rio Hondo would finish with an overall record of 10-8-3.
