Salazar’s Baseball Dominance

After a very successful season Rio Hondo Baseball Coach Mike Salazar sets the bar higher for this years team.

Salazar led them to an eye popping 40-5 record last year, stringing along a 32 game win streak in the processs. With that being said his team was tagged as the number one team in California.

If that doesn’t impress you, he had 8 out of 10 players whom were sophomores  go on to play for top universities. Six went on to Division I schools, including Adam Hurley, who now plays for the University of Hawaii and Christian Ibarra transferred to Louisiana State University.

The others preferred to stay close to home, such is the case with Andrew Morales who attends University of California, Irvine and both Jacob Smigekski and Andrew Melchor transferred to UC Riverside.

Lastly, Bryce Rutherford stepped into California State University of Northridge to pursue his baseball career.

Needless to say, Salazar develops his players very well and sends them on their way to scholarships and Division I schools. There is denying the results that Salazar gets and the attention he pays to all his players.
