Galaxy S10 vs Galaxy Fold How do they Compare?

Samsung recently revealed the new Galaxy S10 and Galaxy fold, but what are the differences between the two. Besides the obvious new folding mechanic, their are many differences that can be seen between these two devices.

Camera

While the camera on the Galaxy S10 boasts a total of four cameras inside it doesn’t compare to the Fold. The Fold has six in total with the idea being for the consumer to take a photo with the phone in any position they have it. Both phones have the same triple back camera. It only gets different when the Fold is put into tablet mode; In tablet mode two new cameras appear, a selfie camera and an 8-megapixel depth camera.

Storage and Battery

The S10 comes with two options upon purchase 128GB or 512GB. Only having the 512GB option there is not much selection with the Fold either since the option to have expandable storage is gone as well. If people want the most out of their Samsung, grabbing a S10 152GB and a new SD card can get you over 1TB of storage. Onto the battery side both products support wireless charging. While the Fold comes with one more battery then the S10 because of tablet mode.

Other Features

Fingerprint scanners make an appearance as the S10 has one implemented inside the screen while the Fold has it on the side of the phone. Also the phones will have next generation of mobile data 5G. Price is still in the air and likely to be expensive but the phones may be purchased with the older generations of mobile data as well.

Price

On the topic of expense the biggest gap between the two phones is the price. The S10 is around the usual price of $900 the Fold doubles that standing at a $2000 price tag. The price comes from the new Fold technology.

Overall the Fold only becomes worth it if the idea of a tablet/phone is intriguing. Other than that people really cant go wrong with the S10. Picking a new phone should be exciting with both of these phones up on the shelves!
