Promising Young Woman Movie Review

“Promising Young Woman” is about a medical school drop out named Cassandra that is 30 years old. The movie shows the realities of sexual assault and how men have been excused for thier predatory behavior, all while showing the hardships of being a woman in society these days.

The main character Cassandra is consumed by the grief of the death of her best friend. The events that lead to Nina’s death lead Cassandra to spiral and take revenge on her own. While also portraying the dangers women face out in society. The film also does a good job of manipulating the actors past performances where they have portrayed a nice guy, which in this film they show the darkness of “nice guys”.

The movie is Rated R and is one hour and fifty four minutes long. “Promising Young Woman” is a feminist comedy thriller about revenge. It is a great film that portrays the realities of sexual assault. Sexual assault is a global problem that many women around the world deal with. Carey Mulligan the actress who plays “Cassandra” won the Critics Choice Movie Award For Best Actress for her role in Promising Young Woman. The movie sets the tone of the times we are in. The movie Promising Young Woman gets a 9/10.
