This year I had the privilege of attending the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, for the first time. For those who don’t know, E3 is the worlds largest video game convention thats was held in the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 4th though the 7th , and it has been my dream to attend since I was 13 years old. Upon entering the building my excitement could not be contained, I was in gamer paradise. Upon seeing all the games that were being presented through the convention, I could not help but notice the advancements being made. Video games were now connecting and promoting with social networking sites like Twitter, and Facebook. Games for the smart phones were not just cheap thrills like angry birds anymore, there were a handful of truly impressive 3D games being shown. Microsofts Xbox 360 announced that they were launching a new service titled “SmartGlass” that allows users to browse the internet and access a wide arrangement of applications using their iphones, tablets, or other numerous devices. Nintendo’s new console, the Wii U, is embracing the tablet control scheme, all while keeping the traditional control alive. The graphics on the games being shown, are almost realistic, giving the motion picture industry a run for the money. This E3 left me breathless, and with the inevitable unveiling of next generation consoles in next year’s E3, gaming will continue to evolve much more faster than any other form of entertainment, and I personally can’t be more excited.
The Video Game Revolution is upon us…
